Basically, Nhat Lam Thuy Trang Tra is not a resort but an area to grow, take care and protect forests. That’s why this region is not so popular on tourist map, almost known by few locals and passionate backpackers who love exploring "strange" and new site.

Initially, this place was called Truong Mai ecotourism area, later renamed Nhat Lam Thuy Trang Tra - a name evoking the romance, where there are mountains, water and lush green vegetation all year round.

The path leading to this location is sometimes steep uphill, sometimes nearly vertical downhill, challenging visitors but in return, you can enjoy the tree-lined roadsideand the entire vastness of the sea and the city Danang from afar.

Situated in a quite deep area within the mountain, Nhat Lam Thuy Trang Tra therefore is uncrowded, henceits natural landscape still retain original and wild features. It almost known by a little number of locals and passionate adventurous backpackers.

To Nhat Lam Thuy Trang Tra, you will experience many interesting things like discovering Nai streams and famous bewildered banyan tree which is nearly 1,000 years old. Due to the banyan tree looks like a deer, so it’s called the “Deer banyan tree” or “bewildered deer banyan tree”. This banyan tree has been dubbed the “magic eye” of Indochina and proud to become the first Heritage Tree in Danang few years ago.

The tree is 20 meter tall, with 9 branching roots plug approximately 12m underground in different shapes. The body of the tree was sawn in two part, forming two pairs of front and back legs of the deer. The widespread and high rise shade looks like spindly elk horns. Strange shapes of the tree made many curious tourists visiting this place.

Nearbythe banyan tree is Nai (deer) stream, where you can see the rocks in the dry season, and sit back, listen to all jungle sounds. Also, next to the stream are a few watchtowers that tourists can stop and go fishing in the stream bed.
